Meet Andrea MacKenzie
Founder of Lead With Harmony® and creator of Resonant Leader Intensive™

I started my career as a trained musician — with a Bachelor of Music degree and the ability to write, play, improvise, collaborate, and lead. Which meant that on paper, I looked like one thing, while actually being capable of something much broader. I watched opportunities go to people with the "right" credentials while my actual strengths and intellect went largely unrecognized.
So just weeks from my 30th birthday, I went back to USC to get my MBA. People's perception of me changed the minute I became an MBA candidate, and I made the most of every door that opened — I had two consulting offers before starting my second year.
What followed was years working inside complex organizations — ops strategy, process improvement, systems design. The kind of work where outcomes are measured in dollars, improvements are prioritized by ROI, and pecking orders determine who's allowed to provide input. I was good at it.
But I kept noticing something the numbers couldn't capture: the quality of the process mattered far less than the people executing it. Teams with identical structures and systems produced wildly different results — and the difference was almost always in how well people understood each other, communicated, and took ownership. No one was openly talking about this.
Over that time I worked across dozens of teams — diagnosing areas for improvement, building consensus, facilitating high-stakes decisions. Sometimes across six or seven teams inside a single client organization. You develop a certain kind of pattern recognition when that's your work.
About six years into consulting and a year into my own practice, a fellow entrepreneur introduced me to her business coach. I started working with her — and it changed me, the way I ran my business, and how I saw the people around me. The experience was so much more effective than straight advisory work that I trained in the methodology to understand why. What I bring to my work now lives at that intersection: sometimes that means diagnostic clarity and direct guidance, sometimes it means asking the question that helps a founder see something they couldn't see before. Knowing which moment calls for which approach makes all the difference.
That path also led me deep into studying and applying the principles of energy leadership, conative instincts, and neuroscience — frameworks that gave language and evidence to what I'd been observing for years. Human distinction — the unique way each person is wired to think, communicate, and take ownership — is a team's greatest asset when understood and leveraged. Ignored or mismanaged, it's their biggest liability. When leaders truly understand how their people are wired, the operational picture shifts completely.
I'm an MBA, ICF-credentialed coach, and a Kolbe-Certified™ consultant. But what I bring to this work isn't credentials. It's decades of experience at the intersection of operations, technology, and people — and the hard-won understanding that, particularly as AI reshapes how work gets done, knowing what each human does best isn't a soft idea. It's one of your most urgent operational dependencies.
I work with a small number of founders at a time in Resonant Leader Intensive — by design. This is high-touch, high-context work, and it only works when I can go deep. Founders with small teams are among my favorite people to work with — because addressing this early, before patterns calcify and complexity compounds, means that as your team evolves, you lead it intentionally.
